이재는 한국어 가사를 왜 넣었을까

 

이재는 이 작업에 참여하게 된 이유가 어린 시절 2002 한일 월드컵 당시 서울 거리에서 사람들이 서로 얼싸안고 기뻐하던 모습을 지켜봤던 기억을 말했습니다. 그 시절의 감동이 오래도록 마음에 남아있었다는 이야기였는데요. 이번 참여에 대해 이재는 "제가 직접 쓴 한국어 가사를 전할 수 있어 더욱 의미가 깊다"라고 밝히기도 했습니다.

개막식과 여운

 

이재와 안드레아 보첼리는 6월 11일 멕시코시티에서 열린 개막식에서 월드컵 주제가 DNA를 처음으로 라이브로 들려주었습니다. 화려한 의상 아래 운동화를 신은 것도 화제였습니다. 잔디 훼손을 최소화하기 위한 선택이었다고 알려졌어요. 공연을 마친 뒤 이재는 SNS에 "대한민국을 대표해 전 세계가 지켜보는 무대에 설 수 있다는 건 큰 영광"이라는 소감을 남겼습니다.
